What a fair creator marketing fee looks like
Agencies hide it. Platforms bury it. Ours is 13%, paid by the brand, shown before you fund. Here's the thinking — and the math.

Every creator campaign pays a middleman something. The only questions are how much, who pays it, and whether you find out before or after you've committed. Nyota's answers: 13%, the brand, and before — the fee is on screen in the campaign builder while you set the budget, and the creator's number is never touched by it.
Why the brand pays
The platform's work — discovery, verification, escrow, the witnessed thread, dispute resolution, payout rails — protects the brand's money and the creator's labour. But the fee sits with the brand for a simpler reason: the rate a creator quotes should be the rate a creator receives. The number in the brief is the number that lands in the wallet. Anything else is a slow leak of trust.
The math, in the open
Fund a campaign with a KES 100,000 budget and the builder shows you the split before you confirm: KES 87,000 is the creator pool, KES 13,000 is the platform fee. No setup fee, no monthly seat fee, no tier where the real price lives. If the campaign doesn't deliver, undelivered escrow returns to your wallet in full — the fee math never becomes a hostage negotiation.
What the 13% buys
KYC on every creator (ID + selfie match + verified socials). Escrow that holds funds until you approve the work. A single canonical thread that makes disputes decidable in 48 hours instead of arguable forever. Payouts that clear to M-Pesa in under a minute once approved. And a support team that reads the actual thread when something goes sideways.
What fair doesn't mean
Fair doesn't mean cheapest. It means legible: one number, one payer, shown before commitment, identical for a first-time brand and a tenth-time one. The creator economy runs on trust that usually lives in screenshots and vibes. A fee you can see is a small thing. It's also the whole thing.
Put it into practice — briefs, portfolios and payouts live on Nyota.
