Getting started
Who can join Nyota?+
Brands of any size — self-serve starts at KES 1,000 with no minimum spend and no seat fee. Creators join free; you need a public social presence in at least one category and, for payouts, cleared KYC.
Do I need an account to browse?+
No. Discover, public briefs, creator profiles and Insights are all open. You only need an account to post a brief, apply to one, or get paid.
Which countries does Nyota cover?+
The pilot is Kenya-first: KES pricing, M-Pesa rails, Kenyan creators and brands. East Africa is next on the roadmap.
Money & escrow
How does escrow work?+
When you fund a campaign, the budget moves into escrow on the platform. Creators see it's committed. When you approve a deliverable, that creator's share releases to their wallet instantly; unapproved funds stay held, and undelivered budget returns to you.
How do withdrawals work for creators?+
Any time, to M-Pesa or bank. M-Pesa lands in under a minute; bank rails take a few hours. You can also spend earnings straight from Nyota wherever the platform is accepted.
Are there any hidden fees?+
One fee: 13% on campaigns, paid by the brand, shown before funding. Creators pay nothing. No setup, seat, or withdrawal fees in the pilot.
Verification & trust
What is the Authority Score?+
A public 0–100 score per creator combining verified socials, completed campaigns, on-time delivery and ratings. It's earned, not bought, and it's the first thing most brands filter by.
How do disputes work?+
Flag from the campaign thread. A platform reviewer reads the thread, the brief and the work, and issues a binding decision within 48 hours. Funds release per the decision.
Is my ID data safe?+
KYC documents are used only for verification and stored encrypted. Brands never see your ID, real name, bank or M-Pesa number — see the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
